We're Updating Our Free Community Plan — Here Are the Details

Table of contents

Edge Impulse is proud to continue to allow developer users to access our platform for free — we call this our Community plan, and it has been a huge part of us recently hitting an amazing milestone of over 100,000 developers, who have created 250,000 projects! All of these projects are part of a tide push towards innovation and a new way of perceiving the world around us.

As we move into 2024, we will be making one small change to the Edge Impulse Community plan. Don't worry, you'll still have free access to develop your AI and ML projects. Here is what to know.

Community Plan Update: What to Expect

Starting January 10, 2024, each Community account will include up to two (2) private projects and unlimited public projects. (Click here to see the current public projects with a total of 500,000 views.)

Why this change?

We want to continue to support our community as it grows beyond hundreds of thousands of developers and projects. We've designed these changes so that every developer in our community can continue to build private personal projects for free, and to foster our community's culture of knowledge sharing by making it easier than ever to publish your work.

An Edge Impulse pipeline may include one or more of these components:

Can I use projects for experimenting? Yes. Users are encouraged to use project entitlements for experimenting as well as for building a production model. Once experimentation is complete, you can delete your practice models and start new experiments.

For additional questions, contact our sales team or log onto the Edge Impulse forum.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Current users, with more than two (2) private projects on or after December 1, 2023, will maintain access to their existing projects, but cannot create new private projects until they have less than two private projects. This can be attained by making existing private projects public or deleting projects. Edge Impulse will not automatically make public or delete existing projects.
