Meet the Renesas RA8D1: First Cortex M85 MCU — And it Runs NVIDIA TAO

We're excited to recently launch a groundbreaking integration with NVIDIA to allow users to access best-in-class NVIDIA TAO models within Edge Impulse — and, for the first time ever, deploy them to edge hardware from other manufacturers, on everything from high-power GPUs down to battery-driven MCUs. Let's take a look at how this functions on the Arm Cortex M85-based Renesas RA8.

The RA8 is the first Cortex-M85 microcontroller in the market. The Cortex-M85 is also one of the first to support Helium which delivers a significant performance uplift for machine learning (ML) and digital signal processing (DSP) applications. With the combination of Arm Helium technology along with NVIDIA TAO, Edge Impulse is able to create ultrafast edge AI applications capable of running on an RA8.

[SOMETHING ABOUT RENESAS HERE]Renesas is known for... Their hardware is used by... It has had native support in Edge Impulse, which makes it a perfect target for deploying the new TAO models.
