Official Support for the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Rev2

We are happy to announce official support for the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Rev2! You can read about getting started with the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense (both Rev1 and Rev2) in this updated guide.

In the past year, obtaining an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense has been increasingly difficult due to a chip shortage. Arduino responded to the shortage by creating the Nano 33 BLE Sense Rev2, which uses a different IMU and temperature/humidity sensor from the Rev1. Unfortunately, this meant that the original pre-compiled firmware and many of the examples from Edge Impulse did not work with the Rev2.

To remedy this, our engineers updated the official Edge Impulse firmware for the Nano 33 BLE Sense to work with both Rev1 and Rev2. Additionally, three new examples were added to the Arduino library (when you download it via deployment).

New Arduino examples

Note that you will only see accelerometer and fusion samples for the Rev2. That’s because the IMU and temperature/humidity sensors are different between the Rev1 and Rev2. The Rev1 and Rev2 use the same parts for the other sensors. As a result, you should use the camera and microphone examples from the nano_ble33_sense category for the Rev1 and Rev2.
